Pretentiousness allows one to ignore any argument as irrelevant gobbltey gook that only gets in the way of the one, obvious truth known only to him. Any suggestions to the contrary are clearly combinations of logical fallacy and use of apocryphal sources. The second party is likely unable to get past his selective memory and see what is true and right. By Occam's Razor, the simplest solution is probably the right one, and the simplest solution is that I am always right. For instance, if you read Atlas Shrugged or The Fountainhead, you would know there is one objective truth. Why you cannot see that Radiohead is objectively the best band of the 90's is beyond me and I do not see why I should feel obliged to step down to your level to explain myself.
