/v/ is most commonly known as the video game board on 4chan. It has counterparts in 7chan's /vg/, 420chan's /vg/, and 12chan's /v/, but as they are parts of less popular chans, nobody really cares about them. It is filled with 13-year-old virgins (referred to as /v/irgins) who don't know a good game when they see one.

/v/ is 4chan's second most populous board, second only to /b/, and is quite possibly one of the worst places on the internet. Due to its size, when overwhelming faggotry began to destroy /b/, many "oldfag" /b/tards fled to /v/. Subsequently, /v/ became known as '/b/ with video games'. It also began to create lulz and quality meme content much faster than any other 4chan board at the time, even /b/, presumably due to this influx of users. Despite this, /v/ is well known for its constant and never ending trolling and flaming due to the complete ineptitude of its mods who only rarely ban users who post things inflammatory to the mods' personal interests, or just for the lulz. It is also well known that everybody on /v/ hates all games, game consoles, companies, software, fanboys, and themselves. This is different from /b/, though it may not appear to be on the surface. In reality, /v/ is made up of groups of people who present semi-rational arguments on a retarded topic, whereas /b/ simply swims in its own shit. /v/ also has an uneasy relationship with both /co/ and /a/, who attempt to find common ground and annoy the shit out of resident /v/irgins respectively.

To spot someone who is new to /v/, simply look out for threads where people are actually discussing the Vidya, rather than bickering about console wars or jacking off to Big Boss.

Recently, due to moot's chemotherapy on /b/, /v/ has become home for many retarded faggots fleeing a /b/ that has grown tired of their fail. Many people seem to think that /v/ needs a similar chemo, and hope it will come soon to save them from the endless number of tripfags and godawful roleplaying threads. Yet, no matter how shit-tastic /v/ becomes in the future, it will always live on in infamy as the board that launched the Rickroll on an unsuspecting internet, and is thus responsible for much of the real world's awareness of Anonymous. The beginning of the end started here, folks.

Although occasionally incorrectly referred to as /v/tards (those are /b/tards living in /v/), /v/ are usually called /v/irgins, due to the unlikely possibility of them ever having sex with anything, and /v/ is often filled with these lonely individuals recounting their tragic love lives or lack thereof (How about a game of pretend?).

Recently, /v/ has been bombarded by the use of the word "bro", which is ironic, since most discussion involves flamewars and pokeporn. It would appear that a form of camaraderie has taken a hold of many users. This manifests itself in "internet-LAN-parties, bro fisting, and a mutual hatred of all things /b/-related. The growth of the bro complex amongst /v/irgins was helped, in no small part, by some faggot mod, who has recently decided to begin to show affection towards /v/, saying he enjoyed the bro "meme". But no one gives a fuck because moot is just a butthurt nigger cum sucking fuck-off.

How to properly troll /v/:

  1. Adopt a tripcode. This is essential since anti-tripfag sentiment is rampant in /v/.
    • Might not be as effective as in past days thanks to a widely adopted tripfag block script. Be sure to change your trip every now and then.
  2. Adopt an avatar, preferably with a KAWAII UGUU~ animu character. Effective as most of /v/ is against animu bullshit.
  3. Be a pretentious asshole and act like you know it all. You'll get the retards going in no time and automatically win.
  4. Bump your own tripfagged threads as anonymous and act like the random retard who doesn't know how to ignore tripfags.
  5. Brag about your tripfag status and say (outright or not) that tripfags are superior to anonymous.
    • While you're at it, pretend you have some other attribute to make a huge deal about. Examples: being a girl gamer, owning an (insert console here), or best of all, being a furfag.
  6. Be a weeaboo or a Japanese ultra-nationalist.
    • Actually, making any thread that has to do with Japan will work flawlessly.
  7. Don't make your threads about the vidya.
    • If your threads are going to be about the vidya, be totally non-biased at first but let your last few sentences have just enough hint of bias to piss people off.
  8. If your thread is a bunch of people saging, make another thread about how people need to stop hating on you.
  9. If one of your trolling attempts is sucessful, viral market yourself. In threads about tripfags talk about yourself. This makes newfags notice you and hate you more.
  10. If you've fairly established yourself, start making as many threads as the flood limit allows you. Seeing three threads on the front page posted by the same obnoxious tripfag is the bane of all /v/-goers.

If all that fails, try starting any rational, civil discussion. Things will get hairy in at least 10 posts.
