I did it!

I followed the instructions here, for great justice. My computer got a nasty virus (reader_s). The thing is basically unkillable without a total wipe. Really got stuck in there and neither me nor me 1337 h4x0r friend who has taken advanced IT classes could fix it... so we decided to DELETE FUCKING EVERYTHING and kill system32 using these instructions for the lulz, then reformat and reinstall Windows. Command Line

I'm pretty sure that commands such as rd, del, dir, type, and other such things that are built into command.com/cmd.exe cannot be executed with the "Run" command - you actually have to launch a command prompt to execute them. Also, unless something changed with winnt systems that I wasn't previously aware of, rd can only remove a directory that is already empty. --Blu Aardvark

  • I have that command on the right-click context menu. However, I just checked, and windows-r doesn't seem to work. wtf? DELETE FUCKING EVERYTHING? yes please. KEKEKETalk to me Listen to me. 07:05, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
    • lol fixed. also rd can remove non-empty dirs. janus zeal 07:10, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
      • (i just tested it.) janus zeal 07:11, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
        • Oh, goody. It wouldn't delete non-empty directories in DOS 6, and presumably dos 7 (Windows 95/98), hence the inclusion of the "Deltree" command on those systems, but they must've changed the way it works in winnt. I'll keep that it mind, as I'm sure it will come in handy one of these days. --Blu Aardvark 07:37, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
          • On Windows 2000 and later, you can do rd /s to remove a non-empty directory. This replaces deltree on previous versions of Windows and DOS. —Argv 19:47, 8 April 2009 (UTC)

Guess what kids?

I wouldn't have guessed that!

Wat??!!

Um, If I delete sysem32, wouldn't my damn computer stop working? So, seems like I'm stuck with that. --Pastel 11:31, 19 January 2009 (CST)

No, if it stops working then the system32 virus it too deep to get out easily. You have to do a factory wipe of the drive, like it says in the article. Sporknife 15:34, 20 January 2009 (CST)

Uh...

i tryed it like it sed but mah lappie stoped working aftorwerds...... i have to use mah other comp. now. is there anythink i can do to undo the eror????? plz --Successful Troll is still successful! 20:12, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

School

Would it be wrong if I deleted a few of my school's computers system32 folders? 666lolwut666 00:43, 30 October 2009 (UTC)

Does this really work?

The instructions here, will they really make it so that running it will fuck up the user's computer?

If so I have uses for this. —The preceding comment was added by HurpDerp, who is too much of a fucking retard to sign his or her own posts. IT'S 4 TILDES (~), NOT ROCKET SCIENCE.
