Are CDs and DVDs plastic crap?

I have quite a lot of CDs and DVDs. Would these count as plastic crap?

Also, this is quite succinct and witty: "The amount of Plastic Crap in a room is inversely proportional to the likelihood that the room will be used for secks". Well, a shelf of mostly music CDs and film DVDs lies next to my bed...
