Chanmongler Fucked, New Chanmongler.
Chanmonglers fucked, I wrote something to mongle your threads off 4chan /b/ only, considering that's all I use, all you need to do is write a few more regexes to have it work with other boards, so if you want to and have the knowledge add the functionality. The source and binaries can be gotten here, people probably write these for personal use all the time, but retarded anons need saving power too.

Chanmongler Fixed (as of July 2009)
A few weeks ago I noticed Chanmongler stopped saving images and would only save the html files from 4chan. I couldn't find anyone else complaining about this (I guess a not that many people use Chanmongler? I dunno why it's a great tool and the creator seems to have abandoned the project, so today I looked through the .chan configuration files and the 4chan source code and figured out the problem. Chanmongler is set to look for image urls by searching for "File :<a href=" but in 4chan's sauce it's "File<a href=" (I assume the deletion of the " :" wasn't an intentional change by moot to block Chanmongler or anything since not that many people seem to be using the program anyway). So I got rid of the space and the colon for each board and now the program works again.
tl;dr: Chanmongler stopped saving images from 4chan recently! IF THIS IS TRUE THEN HERE IS WHAT YOU DO:
1.Go to _cfg in the Chanmongler directory.
2.Open "4chan.chan" in Notepad.
3.Open Find and Replace (ctrl-h).
4.Change every instance of "File :" to "File".
5.Save and exit.
6.??????
7.PROFIT!!!

My Attempt at a re-fix
I love this program and used to use it so much. Depended on it really. But then it failed but I was too lazy to fix it. I had fixed it before for 420chan but couldn't be bothered yet so I used changmongler in the meantime. Was fuckin' pumped to hear you had already fixed it for me but it seems to have broken again. I'll take a look at it now.
Also, it sounds as though the creator became an hero. ;_;
Does anyone have the chanfile guide? I swear it is somewhere on my computer but that's a pretty vague location. NEVERMIND I found it. Can reup somewhere if anyone needs it. --FuckYear 01:07, 20 July 2009 (UTC)

I so don't trust this.
Too bad
I agree that it looks suspicious, but hey - loads of people use it by now. You don't see people complaining about being h4xx0r3d, which probably means that there's nothing to worry about.
In other news: I noticed that someone commented my use of third-person view in the article. The argument was that I did so to "pretend to be some loyal user". I was of the impression that wiki-style articles are supposed to be written in the third-person perspective, even though a person is writing about his own creation. Just to make sure that there won't be any further accusations of the kind, I'll change to this username from now on.
At any rate, enjoy your dta, n4cgrab, or whatever it is you use. Even though mongler is superior to those, it's up to you what you choose your tools to be.
It's good
I use it regularly and have for a while and I've never noticed it doing anything bad. And it truly is better than any other similar programs I've tried.
1.0.5 problems
I have problems with 1.0.5 (Startindex cannot be zero or something) i've downloaded 1.0.1, but does anyone have 1.0.4?
- 1.0.1 is shitting out now too. meh. Chan Thread watch is a lot better anyway.
