Science Fiction
From Encyclopedia Dramatica
(Redirected from Science fiction)
An example of the type of thing sci-fi geeks enjoy.
Another fine example of science fiction.
The fiction of choice for geeks, nerds, and basement dwellers. It has been helping grown men keep their virginity for at least 100 years in the form of bad movies, worse television, and abysmal literature.
Not to be confused with people who think that science is fiction.
The Structure of Science Fiction
Science Fiction requires at least one, but preferably a bunch, of many things to be true:
- It should take place in a futuristic society.
- It should involve an alien location.
- Outer space is a plus.
- It helps to have a big dumb object over 9,000 miles big.
- Women don't matter (this is implied by "science", not "fiction"), but there should always be at least one alien with large breasts in a supporting role (even in the books) so people don't get the impression that everything is a total sausage festival.
- It should be embraced by a large amount of fanboys and require large amounts of crossover merchandising.
Science Fiction should not be confused with Fantasy, which is also a genre enjoyed by basement dwellers.
Definitely not a double feature, or even a picture show. <-- I see what you did there.
