thescenequeens, often abbreviated as SQM is a community on LiveJournal where random livejournal users, mainly pre-teens and teens, stalk and post pictures of random people from the internet, making them quite popular internet celebrities. Members in the community post mainly pictures, but also videos, hiplogs, and even myspaces of the scenequeens. Members also get to post their icons and graphics there.

Scenequeenmedia was created by "hollywoodsleeps" who later added "fugitives" as a maintainer, to help make the community look more appealing. "Ouija" was added sometime later, as a moderator.

12 Hour Deletion

SQM was deleted for one night and people started to freak out. The community re-opened the next day and most things were back to normal.. except some people now resented the mods for doing this and hatred of the moderators began.

Ban_Set

The first "problem" that occurred in SQM was that haters of the so-called "scene queens" joined the community and started saying rude comments on entries. These users were not welcomed and were sometimes banned from the community, depending on how harsh their comment(s) were. There were only a few people who got banned, and those who did were pissed and so the community got a bad reputation. People claimed to be "too afraid" to say anything in the community and mods were criticized.. some users calling them "ban_set crazy." Despite this, the number of members of the community increased dramatically within very little time.

Speaking Freely

Since people wrongly felt they couldn't speak freely in the community without being yelled at or banned, a new community was made for people who wanted to LOL and say whatever they pleased about the scene queens. The community was named Lolscenequeens and soon after, the number of people in SQM and LOLSQ were pretty equal. After not even being around a month LOLSQ was deleted by it's owners. That same evening the same mods of LOLSQ made a new top-secret community, which didn't last very long because the next day Lolscenequeens was back up and running.

Scene Queen Style

People in SQM were getting pretty sick of seeing posts about clothes, hair, jewelery, etc and frankly the mods were too. Because of this, "Fugitives" of SQM created a new community specifically for style questions, comments, and tips.. this community was conveniently named scenequeenstyle.

"Zui is not a Scene Queen" NSFW Controversy

"Fugitives," a mod, posted two pictures of Zui Suicide (New BFF of Audrey Kitching.. one of the more popular scenequeens) peeing and/OR crapping on a playground with the caption "You wanna talk shit?" People in the community blew it way out of proportion and got upset because there was no "NSFW" warning. The entry was soon deleted, but a follow up entry was posted saying that the Zui entry was supposed to be taken lightly as a joke. Making the point straight forward, the new post allowed people to talk shit straight to the moderators of the community if they wanted to. Some drama was started, which was expected, but only lasted a couple of hours. The community had a hard time getting back on their feet; posts went down hill thanks to all the n00bz and the "scene queens" basically sucked all the fun out of what could've been a great community. In fact, "scenequeenmedia" is what popularized the "scene queens"
