From Encyclopedia Dramatica
Jetronic is a crappy online comic that features an angsty prettyboy protagonist and a shit load of his personality-lacking friends. The story is mostly non-existing; The hundred pages it's been going on for so far have consisted of the characters standing around in different places and talking.
This bullshit is a co-operation between the writer Siarra Fenris and the artist Takashi Nakayama, who are surprisingly enough both fugly anime-watching bitches.
Fun fact: They have about 9000 fanclubs (and contests) for their own characters.
Fun fact two: Siarra is Takashis advisor and translator. (Takashi sucks at english, but she doesn't know how to speak or write Finnish either. Even though she is Finnish.)
[edit] The Story
Jetronic takes place on Earth, around year 2026, when new islands have randomly popped into existence on the world map. These islands are apparently populated by Noids, human-animal hybrids whose main reason for existing is to look pretty and give Takashi an excuse for her shitty anatomy-drawing skills. The story also apparently involves an evil corporation led by an equally angsty gay person, and demons (as we have seen a picture of the protagonist posing on a rooftop with badly drawn horns).
In the first hundred pages the characters have talked in a nightclub, on the beach, at the mall, in a family party and in a park. That sure is a lot of talking. Especially considering that nothing has managed to actually happen.
This is the protagonist. No, really.
[edit] The "Art"
Due to the fact that Takashi can't draw a shit, most of the panels are traced. Most of the poses can be found from such comics as W.I.T.C.H and Elfquest. One of her characters is also a shameless copy of Gally from Gunnm. Including the background story of this character. According to Takashi, this is a way of showing respect to the original character.
Like mentioned before, the fact that the characters are not fully human is a really handy excuse to not bother with anatomy. All the men have a body of a curvier-than-average woman, minus the boobs. This might also be because Takashi likes to trace pictures of women. The men also seem to either lack testicles, or the forementioned bodyparts have shrunken into raisins because of excessive use of supertight PVC-pants.
That's what you get for tracing pictures of women.
|
Girly boys are not that bad but come on, this is ridiculous.
|
Seriously, what the fuck? Call the ambulance!
|
Another thing Takashi doesn't seem to find important enough to bother with is the perspective. The only things with perspective in Jetronic that look about right are the ones she traced from "How to draw manga". See the picture gallery for examples.
[edit] The Drama
It has become very obvious that the authors of Jetronic can not take criticism. They state on the website that criticism is welcome, but this seems to only apply for "criticism" that doesn't criticise them.
Any negative comments are answered with personal insults and a ban. The commenter will also be labeled a person who stops by to insult the authors and then runs to avoid any further questions.
E-mails are not answered and later Takashi will lie that the matter has been solved privately.
Considering Takashi's bitchy nature and tendency to get butthurt over criticism, it is highly recommended to flame her guestbook, as it might result in more lulz.

Message: Your comic doesn't really progress, and the story isn't all that good. The characters just talk and talk god knows where and their actions don't seem to have any real meaning, and that's been going on for almost hundred pages.
It already feels like your story doesn't make any sense. It'd be nice if the readers knew something about the character's motives too.
Your main character seems to be the only one who matters, since he's the only one the readers know something about.
There's also so many characters you can't even remember their names, let alone knowing something about them without reading the long descriptions elsewhere on the site.
The page layouts and POVs aren't that great either, though you have a few pretty decent ones.
The anatomy of the characters is off too. I do realize they're different species or whatnot, but men and women really do not have a similar anatomy. You draw females well but your men need some work.
One thing I also noticed was that even though your characters have a lot of facial expressions they still remain somewhat expressionless. Almost like the artist wasn't putting her whole heart into the work.
This leads to the conclusion that the artist just seems to want attention and thinks too highly of herself.

Well hello.
I can only wonder if you've ever read anything more challenging than W.I.T.C.H or Donald Duck. I don't think you have, because after all, PUBLISHED comics have the same kind of story developement; things happen and they're explained later on in the story.
Since you didn't leave any information aside of your lovely teenage nickname we sadly can't have further conversations about your critique.
A fine example of how teens these days are only after immediate satisfaction and lack the concentration to recognize the antagonist and protagonist and other such delicate pieces of the story.
And if you've got such difficulties with internalizing more than three characters, you'd better stay away from, let's say children's show called Digimon.
As for the art, we are very sorry you don't like it, but it is quality-wise a lot better than a lot of stuff being published at the moment.
After all we've always aimed to improve the outcome and you're the first one to give us such harsh critique. I deeply wonder how you can label the artist an attention seeker.
Talking about men, how about Gaston?
Have a nice summer.

It so happened, that someone by the nick "Le Sigh" agreed with scream89 and made a comment, bringing up the same things that scream89 did.
This was apparently too much for Takashi, since the following conversation ensued:
“
| Reply: Your friend, who started this whole ordeal, has already contacted us privately and we have agreed to leave each other alone. Why can't you be as smart as her and stop pestering us as well as yourself?
You'd be making everyone a big favor.

"My friend who started this whole ordeal", who's right here next to me by the way, has no idea when or what she's agreed with you. The mail she sent you still remains to be answered.

Surely you're not obliged to answer anything. But if you don't, you shouldn't go around making up stories of some "agreements".

I don't understand why people complain about the anatomy of your men.
I mean does it matter if Marco has wide hips? I think it's kinda hot and not really that feminine. And I don't think the story is boring. But this is just my opinion, of course.

Another fun fact: All the messages in the guestbook that are along the lines "you're awesome! I made my own fanclub for Jetronic!" are replied by Takashi. On the other hand, most messages that contain criticism and require a reply with lots of fancy words are replied by "Takashi & Siarra". This tells something about Takashi's writing skills (not to mention general intelligense).

"Err. That protagonist of yours, Marco. Is he/she a boy or a girl?
There wasn't any mention of that on character profile pages.
| „
|
| —Question by random visitor1.

“
| Takashis answer: Yes. Marco IS a boy, or do you see boobs* on him?
I think it's mentioned about million times on character pages that Marco is a boy... or actually a young man.

"Before I knew nothing about Jetronic I made a comic of creatures who looked a bit like your noids. Some of them were Goths.
In other words, do you mind if I make my own site based on them?

| —Question by random visitor2.

“
| Takashis answer: No I don't mind, even though I'm a bit paranoid about that, because some people have traced my works.

At least she only traced the other guy.
|
Because this profile certainly wasn't simple enough to draw by yourself.
|
A fine example of Takashi's mad perspective skills. Notice the lens flare.
|
More like level 1 of elementary school art.
|
|
This is really such a difficult arrangement that it asks for tracing.
