GET is the act of reaching a certain reply number on one of the many imageboards lurking in the darkness of the interbutt. First popularized on 4chan's/b/, which receives an absolutely ridiculous amount of replies from anonymous users every day, which is why at the time of this article's composition, /b/ was at 14842077 replies since the last time the board was cleared, during ZERO HOUR.
Since then, posters on other boards have begun to celebrate their GETs with equal vigor, happily begging for stickies when they reach some trivial number, like five. Which is about all 420chan can hope for.

When the reply count begins to approach a significant number, generally a whole thousand- or in the case of /b/, any whole ten thousand - or some silly number like 11223344, all posts must read "__________GET", where the blank is the number in question.
- Be a mod.
- Break the board in question.
- Post something really fucking retarded.
- Sage
- Bump
- ???
- GET!
When the post count finally reaches the number in question, it is traditional that everyone on the board reply to the thread commenting on the GET in one of the following ways:
- failget
- FAILGET
- FUCKING FAIL
- WTF IS THIS SHIT?
- modget
- MODS = FAGS
- USER WAS BANNED FOR THIS POST
- MySQL Connection Failure
- DESU DESU DESU
- sage goes in every field

Mods = fags therefore Modget = fagget
In some cultures, acquisition of a GET is thought to cure AIDS in the same the way that virgin-sex does. In these cultures, those infected with AIDS who are too small, weak, or underdeveloped to rape pre-adolescents compete heatedly to extend their phailishly phail lives through the acquisition of a GET. Many examples of those spending their last years in pursuit of this elusive elixir can be found on the internet. Moast, obsessed with their own mortality, pursue GETs to the exclusion of lasting social connections or reproduction. The scientific community, unable to disprove this theory, remains undecided.
Of course, the fact that anyone obsessed with getting a specific post number on a message board is constitutionally incapable of ever having gotten laid causes one to question why exactly they would need an AIDS cure in the first place. Go figure.

The epic 56M GET drama of February 27, 2008 was caused when Epic Fail Guy failed, in predictable fashion, to get the 57M get. The MODFAGS of 4chan quickly deleted the awesome post.

When 4chan's /b/ began to reach the 62 million post mark, it was discovered that a mod (undoubtedly) posted the 62000000 GET with furfaggery. WTF mods? Fuck off. The picture turned "Thumbnail 404" and was replaced with "Warranty Void if Seal Broken," presumably a not FAGGOT mod.

After the fail of the 60mil get, Anon from /b/ redeem themselves by getting a nigger get! the niggerist get IN THE JOSEPH FRITZ APPROVAL THREAD. Quickly resulting into a threadnought of fail, there is little hope that the cancer in /b/ is subsiding.

In a unique twist, the 70,000,000th post in /b/ ended up being 404'd before most people got a chance to see it. Quick accusations quickly arose blaming the mods for the failed GET. It was quickly proved that 70M GET was rightfully "Niggers".

77777777 GET being won by 420chan introduced outrages in all red hearted /b/tards and so a massive invasion of 420 chan of lulzy proportions was launched.
