AOL

This is a bit late (August '06), but it's pretty krazie. "AOL Proudly Releases Massive Amounts of Private Data." The data include 20 million web queries from 650,000 AOL users. It includes all searches from those users for a three month period in 2006, as well as whether they clicked on a result, what that result was and where it appeared on the result page. The data is very feebly anonymized. All of it can be downloaded. Check out a series of searches from "User 927." They start out innocently enough with searches for "Yoko Ono" and the Budweiser beer commercial Clydesdale horses, but quickly escalate to (misspelled) searches for "hentai pedofilia," "farm boys bestility," "pee fetish" and "electric sex torture." (Also, "dirty jews".)

Anyway, we kinda missed it, but it's pretty scandalous and funny.

Merge fanboys and fangirl?

Hey, I was thinking about merging these two into a single article (fanfag?) I don't really see much of a reason for there to be separate articles... in cases where the gender is actually important (ex. yaoi fangirls), I can just call attention to it in the body of the article. Tfo apparently tagged fanboys for a rewrite a couple of months ago, and fangirls don't seem to be in better shape, so hopefully I can shape them up in the merging process. The first two options are more or less grammatical versions of the sentence, while the last emulates the presentation of the script. I suppose there is also a fourth option to keep the current title and call it ironic.
