Request for Clarification - deathnotice template on new articles

Just enquiring as to how long after a page creation is it appropriate to stick template:deathnotice on it? If someone creates a stub and categorises it as such, does that mean it should automatically be classed as "not meeting ED standard", or is there some buffer period before deletion threats occur.   • The template is mostly for articles unrelated to the internet. If the article has no relationship at all to internet memes, drama, and culture, or the relationship is unclear, deathnotice is more-or-less intended to warn about the article's pending demise and to provide a buffer period instead of being outright deleted. (Articles might or might not be kept for the full period. Some might have longer lives than others, as well. It's really more of a tool for the sysops than a tool for the backseat admins) If the article is just unfunny shit, it's {{shit}} instead. Blu Aardvark 00:00, 14 June 2007 (CDT)

      • I've experimented with making all the sections a single color, and it just doesn't look right that way. It might work better if I swapped the green with the red I used on the sideblurbs template before, however. As for AOTN, I originally had it as its own section, but felt that a) it would be a good idea to give PoTN moar prominence, and b) it would provide a workaround for overly tall images in PoTN that overspilled the container (Before, any images taller than 200px or so would cause breakage. Now, because the AOTN template allows for custom specified height, that breakage can be avoided, and we can feature tall pics without worry). I'm relatively averse to adding more sections at the moment. Part of the reason a main page redesign was called for in the first place was because we had too many features. Weird technical glitch

So I am trying to read your new article and I notice with your new software or what ever you did, ED no longer creates thumbnails, instead it makes my browser load the entire full size version of each image so when a page with a big gallery when it had tiny thumbs generated was 100K to load it's now 10,000K. Cleaning up shit and baleetplz pages

I'm in the mood to do some busy work and thinking about cleaning up the things with shit and baleetplz templates. What's the rule on when these can be flushed and when they should be left alone? I'm assuming that User, User Talk, and Archive pages shouldn't be touched no matter what, but is there a time limit of a month or few months on when the rest is safe to be flushed?   • We generally don't up and flush {{shit}} pages unless they aren't related to the internet in any way. {{baleetplz}} pages might be worth deleting, but take a moment or so to look at them and determine whether they are relevant to out interests (ie, relating to internet memes, drama, people, and culture). Nigga Redirect Question

On the 21st someone moved Nigga to Nigger and made Nigga a redirect. Not only did this fuck up a bunch of redirects (the entire Special:DoubleRedirects page is now broken Nigga redirects) but there's a comment in the history of both pages that Nigger was moved to Nigga by a sysop because it was funnier, which I agree with. Regardless, where should the stuff be? If it's going to stay at Nigger I will go through and fix all the broken doubles. If it needs to be moved back, I can do that, and fix whatever double redirects happen when that happens. What do you guys think? --WM 13:34, 23 June 2007 (CDT)

  • I moved it earlier, but like I said on the talk page there, I did so because it's always been at Nigga and it's been set to Nigga by sysops twice. It was moved by a user without consulting anyone and it broke a bunch of shit, so at that point it seemed easier to me to just move it because there were like 3 requests over a few months for it to be changed to Nigger.
