DragonForce is a British band from London. They suck ass live (and otherwise, for that matter), and are known for their fast paced songs, twin guitar solos, and incorporation of "video game" sounds into their "music". They have been famous for making lots of money using a rehashed version of the same song over and over again.

History
DragonForce was formed in 1999 from the remnants of black metal band Demoniac under the name of DragonHeart, but soon changed their name to DragonForce because they wanted to avoid any legality issues with Brazilian band "Dragonheart" thought the name wasn't gay enough. Their career began to skyrocket after they got played on Kerrang! over 9000 fucking times every day.
About the band
DragonForce can play their guitars really fast, and are hailed by some as being the hardest metal known to man. Though they place more emphasis on speed than actual technique, timing, or variation, none of this matters, because they can play their instruments FAST!
Band Members
Dragonforce has something like two dozen band members, but the only ones people care about are the two lead guitarists: Herman Ri and Sam Totman. Herman Ri was chosen as a guitarist because Japan is OMGCOOL, and Sam only plays guitar because he needs to hold some kind of instrument on stage. Sam is also the main songwriter, but only if by "writing" you mean drunkenly throwing darts at a stack of Magic: The Gathering cards and jotting down whatever sticks and listening to the Official Soundtrack of Pacman. Ri and Totman are seen in the video below, showing off some of their 1337 guitar skillz.
Through the Fire and Flames
| —Guitar Hero players everywhere |
Much like many other shit bands, Dragonforce made its way onto the soundtrack for Guitar Hero, giving them much of their current undeserved success and making them famous amongst prepubescent kids who are unable to tell the difference between actual talent and studio-produced wanking. This boost gave Herman Ri and Sam Totman the image of being good guitarists even though you're playing the keyboard part for half of the song. Fat sweaty kids all around the world bled their pudgy little fingers out from over-stretching from the green button to the orange on Extreme Mode so that they could feel as "talented" as Ri. Luckily, their clumpy hands now prevent them from typing too much.
Songs
| —Typical DragonForce Lyrics |
For some reason, the members of Dragonforce (and most other power metal bands) seem to be under the misguided illusion that they live in a medieval RPG. The band's songs are known for being fast, repetitive, sung in ALL CAPS, and each over a week long. Once you have heard one of DragonForce's songs, you have heard EVERY DragonForce song. Every song will contain at least one or more (usually more) of the following:
- Battles
- Fighting
- Warriors
- Shining
- Swords
- Starlight
- Shadows/Darkness
- Kingdoms
- Fires
- Standing Together
- Dragons
- Victory
- Distance
- Forces
- Burning
- Far Away
- Reaching
- Falling
- Rising
- Dreams
- Heavens
- Eternity/Eternal things
- Running
- Fate
- Carrying On
- Flight/Flying
- Sky
- Running free
- Endless
