Bokuchan is a less frequently-used sister site to Desuchan. Much like the latter site is named after Desu, Bokuchan is named after Desu's reverse trap sister, Boku. Much like Boku, Bokuchan is the quiet, unassuming, stable type, as opposed to Desuchan, who, much like Desu, is hot-tempered, unwieldy, and prone to blowouts. Also like Boku, Bokuchan is the less popular of the sisters, which explains why there's NEVER ANY FUCKING POSTS.
Bokuchan was created by Photoshop Addict during the great /temp/ shitstorm of December 2007, when he realized that stuffing Desuchan's divergent userbase into a single board was provoking an internets holocaust. Thus, a new *chan was created, with boards closely parallel to Desuchan's: one for each of the Rozen Maiden dolls, /ro/, an /md/ board for Manga, and so on. Refugees from Desuchan huddled together there while /temp/ was overrun by drama. Bokuchan now hosts a few other boards not present on Desuchan, including one for writefagging (/story/) as well as a Japan/general board (/jp/) for all the weeaboos.
Throughout most of its history, Bokuchan mainly served as a backup chan when Desuchan went down due to DDoS or DNS fuckeduppery or some other shit like that (which was often). Bokuchan still gets most of its traffic when Desuchan is down, and is rather empty the rest of the time, except for a few random anons and tripfags who seem to prefer the quiet, mostly drama-free Bokuchan experience. Recently, through the efforts of a handful of true believers, Bokuchan has begun to develop its own independent *chan culture separate from Desuchan, and has partnered with several other small imageboards (Maruchannel and 28chan) to, uh, well, because.

[edit] Re-Design
Sometime in September '08, Bokuchan mod Tomoe_Kashiwaba pushed thru a redesign of the homepage for bokuchan. In doing so, bokuchan became one of the few *chan boards with a distinct look on its homepage. Unfortunately this doesnt matter, because almost no one visits. Also ironic, a large area of space was given over to one of its partner sites, maruchannel, in the form of an obsolete mascot of the site. I say obsolete because apparently the bokuchan admin hasn't been seen on several months.
