Advice Dog

Wandering onto /b/ in the Summer of 2008, the so-called Advice Dog (Also known as Persuasive Puppy, Advice Puppy, Bad Advice Dog, Subversive Dog, Wisdom Dog, Danger Dog, and Crafty Clever Canine of Conscience Corruption) came to /b/ to grace its ignorant and misguided inhabitants with His infinite wisdom. Set in front of a bright, nearly hypnotizing backround, the dog is a trusty sage who arms anonymous with knowledge.
While Advice Dog is a step above the endless waves of shit that continuously flow into 4chan, it's still a forced meme that is perpetuated mostly by trolls and newfags. But hey, at least it's original content NOT ANYMORE LOL.

Apparently the meme originated as a security measure devised by the Internet Police to prevent young kids from performing stupid, erroneous, or otherwise fecal decisions on the internets. Others argue it originated on Mario's fansite forum. The original dog's name is Boba Fett, and the original photo was taken July 2006, just seconds before little kyute Boba ripped off his owner's balls with his claws of steel and wisdom. The original image was a meme on 4Chan's /mu/ as a fake album, as to confuse newfags. It is now used primarily as a means to piss off oldfags (and pretty much everyone else, really). Much to the disgust of /b/, on July 5th 2008 Advice Dog was the 76M GET giving it an undeserved instant forced meme status.
[edit] Proper Use
There really is no "correct" usage, but the most effective seems to be to link two completely unrelated pieces of advice together. It's also somewhat typical to combine one helpful piece of advice with a very bad an even more helpful one. For instance, "Do the laundry. Rob a bank."

Ye Olde Advice Dog is the evolution of advice dog and another popular 4chan past time, the Bayeux Tapestry. If phrased correctly, a Ye Olde Advice Dog Poster can be hilarious, providing much lulz, especially if you post it at your local private pool.

Not nearly as well-established as Advice Dog, Wisdom Cat is the antithesis to the former. Created when one Anon just wouldn't fucking conform and wanted to be different, Advice Cat only offers reliable, helpful advice to netizens. For this reason, it is made of fail and nobody uses it. Also known as Advice Cat.

During one of 4chan's many pilgrimages to the homeland of 2chan.net, yet another annoying macro popped up to be added to the "Advice" series. During these visits to 2chan, the channers will attempt to get in touch with their weeaboo roots and bring back pictures from their travels to the Land of the Rising Sun Godzilla. On one such journey in August, 2008 Anon stumbled across an image of a squinting Azn man set against a brightly colored background. Sound familiar? Well, it didn't take long for /b/ to associate the image with an already established meme and fire up the INTERNET PAINT MACHINE to make moar pics. And thus, Advice Chink (Also known as Advice Asian) was born.

Apathy Dog is the fucked up cousin of the Advice Dog. Apathy Dog is a failure because /b/tards have no grasp of the English language, and failing to understand the difference between apathy and being emo, created a snivelling faggot Prozac Pooch (or Emo Dog).
In Apathy Dog's defense, it actually requires a touch of creativity. To reach a finished product, you must add captions to the Oh Exploitable macro in the time honored tradition of /b/ by firing up MS Paint (or sticking it in ROFLbot) instead of lazily using the Advice Dog generator with all its limits. This is especially true when an Advice Dog macro is juxtaposed with an Apathy Dog macro to form a single macro; this is the first sign of original content in months.
